On Monday, under pressure from the growth of the US dollar (the dollar index added 0.36%) and the lack of prospects for the Irish border for at least a month (according to M. Barnier and Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar), the British pound declined by 16 points. In the US, personal income in March increased by 0.3%, expenses increased by 0.4%. Today, in the UK there will be data on loans for March. The number of issued permits for mortgage lending is expected to decrease from 64 thousand to 63 thousand. The net volume of new loans granted to individuals is expected to decrease from 5.4 billion pounds to 4.9 billion pounds. The index of business activity in the manufacturing sector for April may also show a decline – a forecast of 54.8 against 55.1 in March. In the US, ISM Manufacturing PMI is projected to decrease from 59.3 to 58.4, but there may be a positive shift in construction costs – the March forecast is 0.5% vs. 0.1% in February. As a result, we are waiting for the pound at 1.3680 and further at 1.3625.
